The Town of Bethany Beach holds a rich and distinguished history that spans more than a century.  There are still many historical buildings and landmarks throughout the town.  Commonly known as the Quiet Resort, Bethany offers many events and attractions and is close to neighboring Fenwick Island and Ocean City, Maryland.  The town itself boasts several restaurants and shops, a bandstand, the famous totem pole entrance and a short boardwalk bordering the broad, sandy beach.  Just north of the town sits the Delaware Shore State Park , which is a six-mile long barrier island, providing a nice buffer from the Dewey Beach  noise, but also great four-wheel vehicle driving and prime fishing spots.  The Delaware National Guard training facility is also at home in Bethany, in addition to the well-known Sea Colony condominiums.

The South Coastal Library is located in the heart of downtown Bethany, for all those rainy day reads, and the town has its own newsletter full of insightful information and local events.   If you are looking for some great local produce and baked goods, be sure to check out the Bethany Beach Farmer’s Market during the summer months or if you are a fisherman at heart, then sign up for the annual Spring Surf-Fishing Tournament.   If you love “house hunting”, then you won’t want to miss the annual Beach & Bay Cottage Tour in July, where about a dozen outstanding homes are featured in Bethany and Fenwick. And if you love arts and crafts, then you will want to come to the annual Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival.
